Hands-on demonstration on Raspberry Pi for IoT applications using Node-RED

Abstract: This tutorial will be starting to introduction of IoT networks, applications, and Edge devices (RPi). We will be demonstrating the various experiments over Raspberry PI device starting from installation, data collection, sensor interfacing, storage of data over cloud, applying machine learning techniques on collected data. Furthermore, experiments will be performed using Node-RED tool to present the effectiveness and easiness. This will contain initial setup of node-red over a desktop (locally) or Raspberry PI (Edge), experiment setup, connection, and deployment. This tutorial also contains advances of node-RED such as Workflows, nodes, flows, etc.

Biography: Gaurav Singal (Senior Member, IEEE) is an Assistant Professor with the Computer Science Engineering Department, Netaji Subhas University of Technology, New Delhi, India. He received the M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees from the Computer Science Engineering Department, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India. He has been actively working in research and teaching for the last Eleven years and published a number of reputed conferences and journals. His research interests include wireless ad hoc networking, Internet of Things, edge computing, artificial intelligence, deep reinforcement learning, and software-defined networks. Dr Singal received the total research grants approx 55L from various agencies such as SERB, DST, and DBT on women security, IoT Security and Assistive devices.
